JEGI CLARITY has advised Counsel Press, a portfolio company of Gladstone Investment Corporation, on their sale to Align Capital Partners.
Headquartered in New York and founded in 1938, Counsel Press is a market-leading national, tech-enabled outsourced business services firm focused primarily on providing appellate services to law firms. Counsel Press supports attorneys and clients pursuing appeals in courts across all 50 states. The Company helps law firms navigate all portions of the appellate filing process including Court Rules & Document Preparation, Litigation Workflow and Legal Research & Writing. Counsel Press prepares and files over 8,000 appeals annually while working with over 2,900 law firms (including 98 of the Am Law 100).
The acquisition of Counsel Press represents an attractive opportunity for Align Capital Partners to partner with the Company’s existing management team and support key growth initiatives with the shared vision of building a diversified litigation support platform. Together, Counsel Press and Align Capital Partners will pursue continued M&A in the core appellate market, while also looking to expand services offered to its broad customer base across the Am Law 100 and all other segments of the legal market.
The Counsel Press transaction is the 14th deal that JEGI CLARITY has closed in the legal market since 2020.
