Behind the Scenes is an inside look at what it’s really like to work at JEGI CLARITY beyond the job title. From day-to-day rhythms to team culture, we’re spotlighting the people, moments, and experiences that shape life at our business.
We recently spoke with Susan Wang, Associate, based in our London office. Here’s what she had to say:
What’s a typical day like?
“No two days are ever the same, and that’s part of what makes the role so dynamic and exciting. I typically arrive in the office early in the morning, and the day starts immediately by reviewing emails and addressing any time-sensitive matters.
From there, the pace doesn’t slow down. My day will vary depending on where we are in a transaction; I might spend the day deep in financial modeling, refining pitch materials, preparing decks for client meetings or researching marketing trends – all while collaborating closely with the team to meet tight deadlines.
It’s a role that requires both analytical rigor and creative thinking, often under significant time pressure. On days when things wrap up at a reasonable hour, I’ll try to fit in a workout or Pilates session, unless I am attending a team event, client dinner or catching up on work to stay ahead.
Despite the intensity, I genuinely love what I do; the fast pace, the variety, and the people I get to meet. The opportunity to constantly learn and grow makes it incredibly rewarding.”
What’s been the biggest surprise?
“How welcoming and non-traditional the culture is. Investment banking often comes with a very corporate image, but JEGI CLARITY stands out, from the casual dress code to dogs in the office and genuinely kind people.
It feels more collaborative and creative, especially given our focus on sectors like media, marketing, and technology.”

Best piece of advice?
“Embrace the challenge really stuck with me. Don’t shy away from things you don’t know, jump in, learn as you go, and grow with it.”
What’s your favorite book?
“A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. It’s heartbreaking but beautiful. It’s about trauma, endurance, and resilience. I read it on holiday and couldn’t put it down. Not a light read, but incredibly powerful.”
Tea or coffee?
“Matcha all the way! I used to drink coffee, but it started affecting my sleep, so now I make matcha every morning in the office. It’s my little ritual.”
